The food at the restaurant was better than I expected, and I’d be happy to eat there again. The San Gabriele Hotel also handled our very large group with fantastic service and was a great host. We didn’t have any trouble with “hellish” heat in the rooms or any unfortunate run-ins with pigeons. I can confirm a “lively six year-old” can trip over the balcony railing, but that comes down to good parenting, so I don’t blame the hotel. We couldn’t get hot water in the showers either, though I believe cold showers are good for the soul, and being near such a holy place makes that feel like a plus. All in all, a satisfying stay. 5/5.

Ave Maria! The chapel is beautiful, and worth the visit. Still, no hot water came from the faucet.

The price was 128 for two nights, which is good. The hotel could use some investment and a lot more cleanliness, though. The rooms are fine but need renovation, and the cleaner should air them out well because there’s a strange smell. The ladies at reception were a perfect 10. I left my passport there, and they sent it to me by taxi.

Room 405 was the worst room ever. It was so hot it felt like burning hell, and there’s no AC, just a ventilator. You can’t open the windows because there’s a pigeon nest right outside. The place looks like a time travel trip to the 60’s. Stay away from this room and book somewhere else.

A small, pleasant hotel in a lovely little town. It was very clean and welcoming, with air conditioning, and 50 euros is a very good price for a night. We had to park two streets away, but apart from that, I’d recommend staying here.
