I’m Mediterranean, so heat isn’t the issue for me, but I had to leave the old windows open because the room had no air conditioning. They barely block any noise from the busy road, and without screens the mosquitoes came straight in. I didn’t see roaches during my summer stay, but the place badly needs renovation. Even the doors screeched, and the walls looked like they needed paint. I paid €60 a night and can’t accept what you get for that price. At €30, I might have called it good value. For comparison, I once paid €45 a night in the Netherlands for a 45 sq. m apartment with a kitchen, bathroom, and air conditioning, 40 km from Rotterdam. If you see this, run away.

The room had the basics and was enough for one night, but it was cold. The owner said the heater would only start on October 25, which wasn’t convenient at all. The WiFi didn’t work either.

We got our money back after contacting Booking.com support, but only after going downstairs to speak with the owner. He seemed annoyed and asked, “What did you expect for €60?” The room was in awful condition, and the lobby looked like something from a horror movie. I should have checked the Google photos, since the pictures on Booking.com showed a different hotel. There were also cockroaches running around inside. In my opinion, the place should be thoroughly inspected by the NAS. The owner’s reaction made me feel he was trying to guilt us for choosing to stay there, and showed how little he valued people compared with money.
