Agriturismo Cafaggio Primo

Simona was a huge help throughout our stay, especially making sure there was always a special breakfast and other food for the coeliac in our group. She was easy to reach for advice on local sights and restaurants, or to sort out small problems. We were three adults and two teenagers staying in the Grainery appartment, a spacious, clean and comfortable place. We chose Il Cafaggio Primo for four nights because we already knew the area from earlier Tuscany holidays, and ended up having a stay that exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was generous each morning, served in the sunshine with a view over the beautiful Arno valley. On our last night, all the guests came to a pizza evening with more delicious homemade food and drinks than we could ask for. The owner cleaned and cared for the pool each morning, and the water was lovely and cool, clean, and safe for smaller children. We hope to return for longer. One bit of advice: AppleMaps took us up narrow, steep roads to the wrong entrance, which guests don’t use because it’s overgrown and very steep. The person whose house we reached kindly tried to explain in Italian how to get to Cafaggio Primo, and we made it in five minutes. GoogleMaps gives the right route, though the last kilometer is a little steep and narrow.

Breakfast was a real highlight, fresh and delicious every morning. Simona also gave us useful sightseeing tips and booked dinner reservations for us. Everything felt perfect from the moment we arrived. We had an incredible stay and will definitely come back, and recommend this beautiful place to others.

A dream stay, and one we’d recommend to everyone. We were a group of 21, children included, and appreciated the safety gate by the swimming pool. The hosts were helpful with tips for wine tastings and restaurants, and were happy to make bookings for us too.

The surroundings are beautiful, with olive trees and plenty of nature, and you can buy their homemade olive oil and wine, which are amazing. I stayed here with my father in May. The owners are both very kind, and although they weren’t around all the time, we could call if we needed them and they came right away. The characteristic house sits in a wonderful spot with a fantastic view, and the pool looked great, though we didn’t swim because the weather was bad all week. A few things in our room weren’t working. The owners came to check straight away but couldn’t get them fixed while we were there. I’d love to come back someday when the weather’s better.
