The welcome was great. We got maps and helpful local tips as soon as we arrived. The place is well kept to a high standard, with large rooms, a comfy bed, and a nice ensuite. There's secure parking on site, with an electronic gate key, and Lucca's walled city is a four-minute walk away. Plenty of private spots around the building to relax, too. You can hire bikes at a great price or just walk. Highly recommend staying here.

Luca, the owner, was super friendly and welcoming, and was always available with suggestions or answers to our questions. We really enjoyed our time here. It’s a lovely town villa, with cozy rooms, a beautiful garden, and lots of thoughtful details. A true gem!

Luca went above and beyond. He picked us up from the train station, took us back there, and gave great advice about things to see in the old walled city. Villa San Donato is ideally placed, just a few minutes' walk from the gates, perfect for walking off dinner. Each morning there was coffee, fresh fruit, and pastries, which we enjoyed on the balcony, in the garden, or inside. The room and inn were spotless, and the mattress in our room was super comfortable. We had a great stay.

A very pleasant stay, with excellent service. The house is beautiful and cozy, decorated in a really cute old-fashioned style. The rooms are spotless and full of thoughtful extras, including a mini fridge with drinks, plus soap and a toothbrush in the bathroom. The beds are very comfortable, and breakfast has plenty of variety.
