Manon Lescaut

The owners and staff are what make you want to return. Beso, Irma, Ardita and Danny are kind and welcoming, and really do treat you like family. Whether you're on your own or with a group, Caffe Manon Lescaut feels like a home away from home. The food and coffee are the best in Lucca, and the location is amazing too.

I ended up having breakfast here every morning I was in Lucca. The omelette and pancakes were both spot on, just like the Eggs Benedict I ordered on my first morning. The real bacon was some of the best I’ve had, and every order comes with fresh-squeezed orange juice. The staff were attentive, friendly, and on top of the little details. If you want a break from a typical Italian breakfast and feel like having an American-style one, this is the place. It was the only spot I returned to during my time in Lucca, and I can’t say enough good things about it.

We went for breakfast every morning because the food was excellent. It was always packed, though, and usually just one or two people were working. Getting a waitress's attention when we needed something was really difficult.

Breakfast brought us back every morning, but lunch and dinner were great too. Every dish we tried was phenomenal, and the staff were lovely, kind, and very accommodating. If you're in Lucca, make a point of coming here and trying the tiramisu!
