Perle d'Ambra

One of the nicest places we stayed in Italy. It’s clean and comfortable, with lovely decor, and there’s even cold sparkling water on tap. Debora was very friendly, suggested places to visit, and told us about Lucca’s history. It is near a pub, and Deborah provides earplugs, but we didn’t need them during our stay.

Perle D’Ambra is just inside Lucca’s walls, with easy access to everything we wanted to see and do. The place is clean and updated, and you can tell Debora has put a lot of love into it. Debora herself was probably the nicest person we met on our trip. She was quick to respond, welcoming, and so hospitable that staying there felt like being with family. There’s a bar underneath, as others have mentioned, but she provides earplugs and it wasn’t loud enough for us to need them. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lucca!!!!

We really enjoyed staying here. The landlady is exceptionally friendly, and the location is great. Our room was beautiful and very clean. There’s also a large shared kitchen where you can make tea or coffee and have some breakfast cereal.

It’s centrally placed, so you can walk out the door and start exploring Lucca, and it’s easy to find from the train station. The place itself is charming and comfortable. The hostess was wonderful and gave us good suggestions for sights and restaurants.
