We spent four days here near the start of September. The rooms were great, and the staff were fantastic and really helpful. The location is hard to beat, with shops, sights, and restaurants all close by. It’s tucked down a side street, which also keeps it quiet at night. I’d happily stay here again if I returned to Lucca, and would definitely recommend it. The one possible drawback for some people is that there’s no elevator and every room is on the second floor. It wasn’t a problem for us, but could be difficult for someone with mobility issues.

This is a lovely, historic little hotel in a very central spot. Keep in mind you can’t drive up to this hotel, or many others in Lucca’s old town pedestrian area. The best gelati in Lucca is opposite the front door. One thing to watch for: room No. 21, on the front first floor, has windows that don’t block the noise from the character-filled lane outside.
