The Tuscanian Hotel

Service was great, and the room was nice. Breakfast had an Italian feel, with fresh baked goods and pancakes. The hotel is right in the centre of Lucca within the walls, about a 15-minute walk from the train station.

The location made getting around with the family easy, with everything we needed no more than a 10-minute walk away. Our room was clean, the AC worked well, and the front desk team were lovely. They were also very accommodating at breakfast about gluten-free and celiac needs. We had a three-night stay and I couldn't fault it.

Stephania was a big help, arranging taxis and pointing us toward Tenuta Adamo and Bagni Di Pisa Palace & Thermal Spa in San Giuliano. The restaurant, Antica Osteria, was great, and breakfast had a nice spread. We spent four nights here for our honeymoon and were really happy with the hotel. Its central spot inside the walled city made it easy to walk to everything, including the train station. Lucca was a lovely surprise on our trip, and staying here was a key part of our time there.

Service is what matters to me, and this hotel let me down. I was traveling alone as an elderly woman and twice asked the front desk for help after I couldn't get a taxi from the train station. The clerk wouldn't help find one or give me a number to call. I ended up walking with two heavy suitcases full of art supplies and other things. A kind woman helped me up the hills, then three wonderful young British men carried my things several blocks to the hotel. I still don't understand why the clerk couldn't make a simple call.
