Tropical Bed&Breakfast

It’s pretty quiet around here in the evenings, with little to do nearby, and the city center is a fair distance away. The room itself was roomy and clean, and both reception and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple, like at most hotels.

Dear Sir or Madam, I’m writing about our visit to your restaurant on [2025/12/30] at around [07:00]. We came hoping for a pleasant meal, but left feeling humiliated and very disappointed. My companions and I are all Asian, and we were told to sit only in a corner section. We saw other guests choosing seats freely in the main dining area, while Asian customers alone were grouped in that corner. It left us feeling singled out and unfairly treated because of our ethnicity. That kind of treatment is discriminatory and unacceptable, and goes against the equality and respect people should expect in Europe and in hospitality. Please explain this seating policy and what you’ll do to make sure guests aren’t treated differently because of race or ethnicity in the future. That’s inappropriate！！！

Getting into Lucca for a casual walk isn’t easy from here, so a car or bus is the better option. We had a family room for one night, with a huge living room containing two single beds and a very large bedroom. We slept really well. Breakfast was standard. I’d recommend the place overall.

The breakfast was very basic, with a poor choice of both hot and cold food, and the room where it was served felt more like a works canteen than somewhere comfortable to eat. The hotel also had no bar facilities until 17:00. When we arrived at 11:30, there was nothing to eat or drink; eventually the bar manager reluctantly put together a few disgusting sandwiches and crisps. The bedrooms were fairly large, but dingy, dull and austere, with little space or provision for storing clothes. There were no USB charging points, and the sockets were placed so awkwardly that you had to get down on your hands and knees to reach them. Even the kettle had to be plugged in that way. I see this as a serious health and safety issue, especially for older guests, and an accident waiting to happen. The exterior and ground floor reception look impressive at first, but the rooms and facilities are no better than a reasonably priced budget hotel. I can’t see how this is advertised as a four-star hotel. We were extremely disappointed and glad to leave after three nights.
