I booked my stay through booking and found the room too basic compared with the website. It also had an odd smell, and the breakfast and checkout times seemed strange, so I left a mediocre review. Two hours later, the owner called from a blocked number to ask why I’d made “stupid” comments. He called me a stupid woman, warned me to be careful because he knew where I lived, then hung up.

We still talk about this stay years later and hope we can make a date to return. What we loved most was the welcome and hospitality, both five-star. If you’re looking for a five-star hotel, you’ll need to find one, but this was a wonderful place for us to stay. Geraldine & Anthony

The balcony overlooking the lake was fantastic, and breakfast there was generous, with our much-loved pitch-black Italian coffee. The room was spacious, and the owner's welcome was VERY warm. Getting there with the sat nav was easy, though the entrance and exit were a little narrow for our X3 but manageable. We booked a night with breakfast, and there’s a footpath to Colmegna, about 1 km away. We walked it the evening before and ate at Miralago, which we highly recommend. The house could use some paint, but we’d gladly recommend it otherwise. And who notices the exterior wall color in the dark...😉
