Hotel Arcadia

The mini fridge was the one real plus: it was quiet, well stocked, and unbelievably cheap. Water was 80 cents, soft drinks €2, and snacks €1, prices I've never seen at a hotel. The rest of my stay was pretty unpleasant, and I wouldn't come back to Arcadia Hotel. From outside, the modern-looking building doesn't fit with the surrounding buildings, and inside the rooms feel old and worn out, with a full refurbishment badly needed. There was an air conditioner but no remote, so it was basically unusable. The hotel is central, but the city is small enough that any hotel would be, so that isn't much of a bonus. The place feels cramped, with stairs as soon as you enter and a reception that shares space with the breakfast area, check-in on one side and the café on the other. Breakfast was average. The mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable, those memory foam ones that don't work for everyone. I personally hate them.

The reception staff were really nice and tried to help, and breakfast was quite good, especially the cakes. The location is great whether you're in Macerata for a show at Sferisterio theatre or just exploring the city, since everything is within a 10-minute walk. The furniture and room facilities, like the TV, wardrobe, and bed covers, look very much from the 60s, but without the vintage charm.

I had a good stay at this very nice Hotel. There are lots of facilities, and the staff are polite. Tanti saluti a Giorgio e Donato.
