We spent a wonderful afternoon here on a day trip from Assisi. Il Cantico kindly let us book a room just for the day, so we could enjoy the property and pool, take a nap and shower, then have dinner. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, and the staff were hospitable and spoke perfect English. The place itself is beautiful. After a short stretch along a dirt road, you arrive at an oasis with a lovely view to the west, a refreshing pool and a bar. The service was gracious and attentive. Anyone complaining must be a stuck-up snob. There's no reason a person or family shouldn't enjoy this place. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

We stayed in the Suite Loft with our dogs, and the private terrace gave them a great outdoor spot. The views towards lago tresimeno were beautiful, and the staff were welcoming from breakfast through dinner, including with the dogs. The food was very good, though I would have liked more menu choices. We also enjoyed having the spa to ourselves. There wasn't hot water for the jacuzzi at first, but the staff sorted it out and offered generous compensation. We’d likely come back and try some of the outdoor activities.

Come for more than one night if you can. It’s super quiet here, a real break from the rush and bother of everyday life, and the restaurant is great.

That road up to the hotel is narrow and unpaved, which was the one downside for me. Once there, though, the rooms are lovely, the pool is nice, and the view is gorgeous. The online photos actually show the place as it is, rather than dressing it up. Breakfast had a good range, including fresh eggs, and the pasta was very good.
