The view across Lake Trasimeno is lovely, especially at sunset, which is said to be among Italy’s eight most beautiful. We came back to I Girasoli Country House for a second year and again found a spacious place to stay. There are seven bedrooms, some for six people and others for two, each with its own shower bathroom, plus an outbuilding for four more guests. Outside, the large pool sits in a garden with lots of room, children’s toys, a bouncy castle, and some gym equipment. It was very hot this year, and the lack of air conditioning was a drawback. Mrs. Aldina said this upgrade should be made soon to improve guests’ comfort.

We had a wonderful stay, thank you 🙂. It’s a beautiful, spacious house with everything we needed, including a bathroom in each room, air conditioning, a professional kitchen, and a pool for the whole family.

The clean, fairly new pool was the best part, and there were plenty of towels. The house layout is good, but the garden was badly neglected, with a broken trampoline and playhouse. The toys offered for rent were old, damaged, and unusable. Inside, there’s a jumble of dusty plastic decorations, including Christmas items on the fireplace in August. The industrial kitchen sounds useful, but the pots and pans were a mismatched assortment with no fitting lids, and we had to wash the dishes before using them. The small industrial dishwasher needed to be taken apart so we could clean its filters. There’s an oven, but it can’t be used, and the electric one provided doesn’t work well. The doors all squeak and are hard to shut, while the toilets and drains smell musty. The showers badly need renovation.

It was a pleasant, welcoming place, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Everything was just right, with a familiar feel that made us feel at home.
