The rooms are nice and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Do give their own ice cream a try. I’d be very happy to come back.

The owners are really nice.

The location makes it easy to visit Alba and the other nearby towns. Although the building is on a fairly busy road, it’s still quiet. There’s plenty of parking, and the recently renovated courtyard house contains several apartments. We had the main ground-floor apartment, with a living room and kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom window looks onto a fenced area where the owners’ dog stays. Guests are asked to keep the shutter closed to avoid any possible problems, a small sacrifice that’s understandable, especially since the dog didn’t bother us at all. The owners also run a café and ice cream shop, and they were courteous and helpful. Breakfast wasn’t especially generous, but it’s worth remembering this is a B&B, not a hotel, and legal restrictions apply.

Casa Fruscione is a great base for a food and wine trip in the Langhe, with a really strategic location. The rooms were clean, spacious and tidy, and the bed was big and comfortable. The kitchen was functional and clean, and parking was easy, with lots of space. There’s a large sunny courtyard with comfortable tables and chairs, plus a Penny Market and a Despar about a minute away. Mr. Fruscione is fantastic, helpful, precise, friendly and honest. Mr. Carmelo and his sister were disarmingly kind, truly wonderful people. Breakfast was spectacular: croissants filled with homemade custard, Biscotti di Meliga and other Piedmontese specialties, all delicious, fresh, fragrant and homemade. Everything was perfect, well beyond what we expected. An excellent B&B, highly recommended. Try it and you’ll be thrilled.
