Agriturismo Prati degli Orti

The pool looks out over the Maremma and Argentario, and the quiet setting in the heart of the Maremma makes it easy to relax. You're also well placed to visit the main destinations, and there's plenty to see beyond the sea. Elena explains things in detail when you arrive and gives you a really useful list of nearby places to eat. She and her family are kind and helpful, and make the place feel like home. The farmhouse has three basic but clean, well-kept rooms. Breakfast comes every day with a changing spread of sweet and savory local products. Recommended!

The Maremma hills and Argentario mountain make the trip worthwhile on their own. Although you're surrounded by countryside, the beach is only 15-20 minutes away. Elena prepares a different breakfast surprise each morning, with sweet and savory dishes and fruit, all made personally and carefully by the owner. Her tips for restaurants and places to visit are always good. The garden and pool are magnificent, and the whole property is kept immaculate. Our room was cleaned daily, which is unusual for an agriturismo. My wife and I spent a week here in the lower Maremma, and we'd definitely come back.

There really wasn't a downside. The farmhouse is clean and welcoming, the view is stunning, and breakfast is generous and varied. With just three rooms and a pool, it's peaceful, while the location makes it easy to get to the sea and everything to do in Maremma. Meeting Elena felt like running into an old middle-school friend, even though we'd only just met. Thank you, Elena, for all you do.

We spent four nights here and had a lovely time. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was especially comfortable too. Breakfast was delicious, served outdoors and made by Maria Elena, the gracious owner. The garden is beautiful, and the pool is gorgeous, with wide views over the valleys. The agriturismo is very near the sea, about a 15-minute walk from a beautiful, wide beach. Some parts have private access, and there are also private beach facilities. It's handy for visiting other beaches nearby and the surrounding medieval villages.
