Bella Baia Glamping

We spent a week here and had an amazing time. It’s a quiet place with a fantastic view, and you can stay in an apartment or camp. There are plenty of steps, though that’s something you expect on the Amalfi coast. Maiori is easy to reach by bus, and the bus stop is right in front of the door. My favorite part was the wild beach, which you have to swim to reach.

We had a great night’s stay in a glamping tent beneath beautiful lemon trees. The place was amazing for sleeping, and swimming at the beach was a great experience. It takes about 50 steps from the road to reception, then another 80 to the tent, with the toilets and showers in between. The beach is down 210 more stairs. The two outdoor showers were nice in the morning, but too cold to use in the evening. The toilets had no seats, so I’d suggest bringing one. Prices have gone up over the past few years. We paid 134 including city tax and parking for one night, which felt a bit expensive, but the view and beach were worth it. The owners were very nice and gave us lots of advice. I’d recommend staying here!

The views from the camping spots are lovely, and the kitchens are well equipped, so you only need to bring a tent and swimming gear, not cooking equipment. It’s beautiful here, though the stairs make getting settled a bit of work. There’s a private beach you can reach from the sea or the campsite. Under the orange trees, there’s a tiny bar with an enthusiastic bartender who’ll let you try local wines and make you a sandwich. The owner was very nice and said he’s building another elevator for next year to bring luggage down. The showers aren’t great, but you take it or leave it. I’d recommend this place if you want to avoid busy campsites and explore this beautiful coastline. You can get here by public transport from Napels.

The sea access is a real plus, and you can even do a bit of cliff jumping. The grounds look lovely, with lemon trees and grapevines everywhere. Showers need attention: there are only a few indoors and one had a broken head, while the outdoor one has no privacy at all. Parking is scarce and you have to leave your keys with staff; getting back out is tricky, though they’re happy to help. There are lots of stairs, and if you check out before 10am you’ll have to haul your luggage all the way up yourself.
