Hotel Miramare

The beach is just one block away, with a lovely stretch of shops and places to eat nearby. The hotel itself was a different story. I was in a tour group of 18, and they seemed unprepared for our arrival. The lobby looked messy, almost hoarder-ish, and the staff weren't welcoming or friendly. A few people in our group had to change rooms because of mold, and my shower had the same problem. We stayed only two nights, and I wouldn't have stayed longer. The tour company shouldn't have considered this hotel acceptable.

Disgusting hotel and awful customer service. I booked three days, then heard from several people who'd stayed there within the past month that the hotel had a bed bug problem. After also hearing about how they treated other guests, I cancelled within 30 minutes. They still refused a refund and kept all my money, even though the cancellation was immediate and they knew about the safety risk. Don't book here. There are nicer, affordable places around.

Bed bugs. I woke up in the middle of the night completely covered in them, and ended up with 94 bites all over my body. It was super traumatic, and the hotel never properly apologized. They promised to refund the costs I had back home for dealing with the bed bugs from my hotel stay, but never did. Now they ignore every email and call about getting a proper refund. It's incredibly frustrating and rude.

The location felt safe and was convenient for the beach, bus stops, a walkable port, supermarkets and places to eat. Fresh bedsheets were a plus, though they were changed only once during our eight-night stay, and only after we asked. The breakfast was the worst I've had in years of regular travel. It was served in a damp, smelly basement, with old and stale food and fruit, very few options and low-quality products. Staff weren't helpful and communication was poor. There was no WiFi reception from any router on the third floor. The pillows were stained, smelly and well past their life. Room cleaning felt half-hearted, and the balcony wasn't cleaned once in eight days. The room always smelled of old smoke and damp, even with ventilation and AC. They didn't replace the coffee. I had to go down to reception to ask for a pouch, and there was no milk or fresh cups. The rooftop was inaccessible during our stay, and construction noise went on all day. We had no view because the sea-facing half of the building belongs to another property.
