Coming back to Torre di Cesare after visiting Maiori, just a few minutes away by car, and Amalfi, a few kilometers farther on, felt like a relief from the busy towns. The tower sits about halfway along the property, which stretches down the mountain almost to the sea. We were told it dates to around 1500. Its exterior façades are original, while the inside has been fully renovated and furnished with good taste. There were three of us, with ten beds across three apartments, each with its own terrace and stunning sea views. We loved walking through the gardens, with their old trees, flowers, pine scent, fresh sea air, and quiet atmosphere. To reach the tower, you take a typical coastal staircase past lovely terraces and lush, well-kept Mediterranean plants. It’s a beautiful natural setting. We’ll definitely return.

We had a fantastic, relaxing time surrounded by nature. Cesare's Tower reopened in June 2024 and is a striking property only 2 km from the center of Maiori. You can get there by bike or on foot, then park inside the grounds and follow a romantic staircase through gardens and centuries-old trees. The first building has four double bedrooms. Farther down is the fully renovated 16th-century tower, with another three bedrooms.

After parking along the street, you go down stairs through Mediterranean greenery to reach the fully renovated 16th-century tower. It’s a charming place, surrounded by lush plants and extending along the Amalfi Coast.

We booked through Booking.com, but its description didn’t say the property overlooks the sea or that getting there means climbing at least 125 uneven steps with no safety rails. With a small child in a stroller, we found it practically impossible to reach, and it would also be inaccessible for disabled guests. We tried asking for a refund, without success. A very bad experience.

The tower feels like a magical place, with a breathtaking view. The staff were kind and helpful, and the whole experience was unique. We’ll definitely be back!
