Beach Hotel Rosa

The staff were kind and helpful, and the rooms were kept clean. From the restaurant as well as the rooms, the view was spectacular. Breakfast had lots to choose from, and for lunch or dinner there were several pastas, pizza, and salad. The beach is right in front of the hotel, with a pool there too if the lake feels too cold. Most people speak German, but they communicated with us very well in English. I came to do sports, so I didn't have enough time to see all the tourist sights. I did visit the old city of Malcesine, Limone, Riva del Garda, and Verona, and they were worth seeing. It's a comfortable hotel in a beautiful spot, with everything nearby, and I can truly recommend it.

The restaurant downstairs made dinner easy: we could eat while our baby slept upstairs. The food was good and cost less than we expected, and the restaurant staff were always smiling and welcoming. We spent 10 days here with our eight-month-old daughter, and the whole team looked after us warmly. The rooms are small, so I'd suggest getting one with a lake view and air conditioning. There's a little fridge where we kept fruit and baby food from the nearby supermarket, and housekeeping cleaned the room impeccably every day. The administrator was especially helpful, lending us a sun umbrella, arranging a cab, and letting us wash our clothes. It's a great base for sailing courses. We're coming back next year.

The bay is calm and lovely for swimming, and the lakeside route to Malcesine makes a nice walk of about 30 minutes, with some excellent bars along the way. The restaurant here is top notch, especially the pasta, and breakfast is absolutely fab. The hotel has direct lake access, parking, and a Despar nearby, and it's also not far from the main road. The location is one of the best on Lake Garda. What really makes the place special, though, is the staff. Everyone was so friendly and willing to help. We'll be back.

I stayed a week in a very small single room with no balcony, and the old furnishings and uncomfortable bed were hard on my back. The last night, a dog in the neighboring room barked all night. I hadn't even known dogs were allowed. No one was at reception, so the barman had to call someone. It turned out the hotel had no contact details for guests to call in an emergency. After about 30 minutes of discussion because she couldn't open the room to let the dog out, someone finally gave me another room. There was no apology, no promise to speak with the other guests, and no discount. I find it unacceptable for guests with dogs to get better treatment than those without. If people bring animals, they should keep them quiet and not leave them alone in a room for hours. Parking in the garage was difficult because the spaces are made for tiny cars, so parking outside is better. For wing foiling, you can't launch directly from the spot because the wind doesn't come into the bay, so you need to paddle out. For this price, I wouldn't recommend staying here.
