Hotel Da Tino

A quiet room, a great view, and friendly people. Excellent.

My mother, sister, her boyfriend and I spent a week at this charming little hotel in Malcesine. The steep driveway looked daunting at first, but turned out to be manageable. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed, so we felt completely at ease. The pool and well-kept garden were lovely, with sun loungers under the olive trees. The terrace and breakfast room both overlook the lake and gave the place a real holiday feel. The owner deserves the biggest thanks: on our second day, since the hotel wasn’t full, he readily moved us from the two double rooms we’d booked to one double and two single rooms at a more than fair price. After a sleepless first night in the double room, the change brought peace back to the family. We all slept well and enjoyed a relaxing holiday. Thank you so much!

The location and views were beautiful, and the walk into Malcesine was lovely. We had ample parking, a clean room that was serviced daily, and enough variety at breakfast. The owner, cleaner and gardener were all very friendly. I did miss fresh bread rolls, which I consider a major drawback since they’re the foundation of a good breakfast. There wasn’t fresh orange juice either, although you could make your own juice from carrots and other ingredients.

We booked a lake-view room as a couple, and Hotel Da Tino made a very good impression. It’s clean and well maintained, in a quiet spot about 1.5 km from the town center. The historic center of Malcesine takes around 20 minutes to reach on foot. The drive up is very steep and calls for care, though after the third time it no longer bothered us. Our room was spacious and spotless. It could be cleaned daily if you let them know, but we only had it done once. Hand and bath towels were changed three times during the week, and the bed linens once. There was a refrigerator, which I found important, and a TV that we didn’t use. The internet was fast enough. There’s a bar open all day for tea, coffee, Aperol and other drinks, as well as a pool with a lake view. Continental breakfast runs from 8:00 to 9:30. The coffee was delicious, as always, though that’s down to the beans rather than the machine. You can also order an afternoon snack. We’d gladly recommend the hotel.
