The staff were very friendly and focused on good service, and breakfast was fantastic. The place was spotless and beautiful, with amazing views. A quick walk to the other side of the lake gets you to a lovely town center.

The spa and restaurant were great for our family, and we all enjoyed the hotel’s plunge pool. We stayed as a family group and liked having access to boats and F1 at Monza. Como can be reached by ferry or private boat hire. The hotel’s design feels more like renting a villa with staff looking after you. There’s immediate access to a garden with lake viewpoints, and a glamorous rooftop bar below the hotel, reached by a path from the hotel. The views across the lake to the mountains are beautiful, especially at this more natural end of the lake.

The receptionist was incredible, and as a history of art major, shared some great recommendations. I hope the place gets reconstruction work, because the architectural vision and setting are truly exceptional. The vision was fantastic, but the execution felt mediocre. The room was humid, the walls had mold marks, sockets were coming out of the walls, shower water ran all over the bathroom, and the AC was so loud it was impossible to use.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff are lovely, but the whole reason I chose this hotel was the room view, and I didn’t get one. My room was listed as “garden view,” but it was a box room looking out at concrete, an air con unit, and a large roof, with only a couple of treetops. It wasn’t relaxing, and the booking description felt misleading for such an expensive room. I asked management for a discount because of the view and they refused. They should have described it as “garden view, with obstructions” and charged less, like you can choose a seat with a view at the theatre. I resent the way they promote the rooms. From the accommodation description to how they handle complaints, the customer service is incredibly poor. Some rooms may be lovely, but others are so far from lovely that I’d suggest staying elsewhere. If you take a chance on this hotel, ask them for the room number and pictures of the view before booking, and hold them to it if it changes.
