Hotel Griso Collection

The lake view is lovely, and breakfast was decent, though the savory choices could be better. The rest of our three-night October stay was a letdown. We paid nearly $600, but the old room felt nowhere near the luxury advertised. It faced the main road, so it was noisy, and there was only one set of towels for two of us. The jacuzzi was a big reason we booked because the online photos showed a beautiful outdoor one. In reality, the water wasn't heated. Staff said it stays at “outside temperature,” which was freezing in October and made it impossible to use. Calling it a jacuzzi felt misleading. We also got no help with our luggage, no welcome, and our room wasn't ready when we arrived. Finding it was difficult, and service after that was nearly nonexistent, with staff either rude or absent. For a hotel claiming four stars, it felt more like three, and the price isn't justified.

I was surprised by how good the whole stay was, since I'd booked through Love Holidays thinking this was a two-star place, haha. Turns out it's four stars! The terrace views were fantastic, the location was spot on, and the staff were great. Our room was clean and practical, and the showers were amazing. We had breakfast out on our last day, and it was fab. The breaded food seemed a bit dry, so glass covers might help, and I would've liked more hot options. Still, a really great stay, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The vegetables at breakfast weren't fresh, and the food didn't feel up to a “4 stars” hotel. Soundproofing was basically nonexistent, especially in a room near the street, so getting proper sleep may be hard. Four stars can only be in Italy.

Our economy room was clean and looked after, but it was incredibly noisy. The hotel sits on a main road, and traffic could be heard around the clock from either side. There was no insulation to speak of, and we could easily hear people across the hall. Getting to our room in the 700s was a maze too. We had to use several elevators tucked away in dark corners, with no directions to help. The small tub on the deck looked appealing, but the water was room temperature, so I couldn't tell whether it was meant to be a hot tub or a pool. For the price and the way the place is advertised, it wasn't worth it. These are the most overrated hotel ratings I've seen, and nothing about the stay felt relaxing.
