The Piz Rasass suite was spacious, stylish, clean, and wonderfully private. We loved having our own roomy sauna and a hot tub overlooking the view from the huge terrace. We spent four nights here last week while attending Olympic events in nearby Livigno, and it was one of the most special hotels I’ve visited. There’s a lot to enjoy in the spa: indoor and outdoor heated pools, several saunas, a steam room, and massages. The mountain and valley views from the pools were especially lovely with snow around. The hotel’s views, kind staff, and all the ways to relax made it easy to imagine spending weeks here. The food was another highlight. Breakfast had excellent choices, and although we hadn’t booked full board, we ate dinner at the hotel twice. Both the food and service were impeccable, with truly gourmet quality. Everyone we met in the restaurant, bar, and around the hotel was helpful and kind.

My husband especially enjoyed his massage, and we found the huge wellness area spotless, quiet, and free of waiting. We spent four nights at Gerstl and were absolutely delighted. Our dear friend Grigoris recommended it, and the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to meet our needs. The rooms all have panoramic views, and the decor fits harmoniously with the surroundings. The food was excellent, from the wonderful breakfast buffet to the cakes and strudels in the afternoon and the delicious evening menu. The cuisine deserves five stars.

The natural materials used inside and outside give Hotel Das Gerstl a warm, intimate, homely feel. I was particularly impressed by the impeccable cleanliness and the green cleaning approach, which you can sense as soon as you enter. The hotel sits in a spectacular spot overlooking the Alpine peaks and valley, and the staff are friendly and communicative. A wonderful experience, and a hotel worth visiting.
