The room we had is about 20 meters from the main room, and was the worst place we stayed during our Europe trip. The property has several rooms, so don't book the one in the picture. It had a great view, but was one of the more expensive rooms we'd booked and easily the worst value. Luckily we only spent one night there. It was built into a cave, but the cold air came through gaps in the glass backing, and the room felt cold, damp, and musty from mould. I also killed 6 mosquitoes in the room. The owner needs to put in some insect repellent. Avoid this room at all costs!

There were spider webs, no bulbs in the bedside lights, and no breakfast or coffee machine in the morning. The sun chairs on the terrace were all broken. The room smelled strongly of damp, was very humid inside, and had mould on the walls. When we told the host and asked if they could come, they said the city was humid and that they painted the room walls every month. That says a lot about the humidity there. The room had no window, just the front door. We were very disappointed, especially for the price: 170€/m for one night. It was the most expensive hotel we'd paid for so far in the cinque terre, and by far the worst. We strongly advise avoiding this hotel.

The place felt cozy and was within walking distance of Cinque Terre's restaurants and evening activities. The host was friendly and easy to reach when we were running late. One thing we learned the hard way: Italy requires cash for the tourist tax. We missed our train and couldn't get any, so take some out early in case travel plans go sideways.

The staff were helpful over WhatsApp, and the location is lovely. The room itself was very basic and not especially clean, and the terrace with its lovely view was dirty too. It was okay, but I wouldn't come back.

We spent a lot of time enjoying the atmosphere from the balcony, and the view was incredible. Elena was accommodating, friendly, and helpful. I had a fantastic stay in Manarola and would definitely return here.
