Good value for the price, in the peaceful Maremma countryside and just a short walk from the Saturnia hot springs.

The owner spoiled our trip. She first accepted our one-night reservation, then suddenly said we couldn’t stay more than two nights. It felt unprofessional and, frankly, greedy.

The staff were so warm and helpful, and I liked being asked the night before what we wanted for breakfast. It seems a thoughtful way to cut down on waste. The Tuscan hill setting is lovely, too. But cleanliness let things down: the sheets were dirty and there were cobwebs around the room. Breakfast was another disappointment, with croissants burnt on both sides and then dusted with powdered sugar.

The women working there were incredibly kind, and they let our dog roam freely at no charge. We had a great time and would come back, since the shortcomings weren't serious. The farmhouse is simple, and the view makes up for the dirt road at the end. We couldn't have lunch or dinner there because, they told us, they were short-staffed. Breakfast was limited, and the croissants were burnt all three mornings. There was no toilet paper or hair dryer.
