The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help when I accidentally left my AirPods in the room. Their quick, friendly support got them back to me without any stress, and I’m very grateful. The location was five stars, convenient and close to everything I needed. My room was comfortable and clean, a solid four stars. I had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend this hotel.

The location was very good and the staff were too. But although reviews mention air conditioning, the fixed unit beside the bed felt more like a fan than actual AC. We were caught off guard in 39-degree heat. I also wouldn’t recommend the restaurant’s food.

We stayed two nights, and it was fine for a short visit. It’s a restaurant with the hotel rooms upstairs. The basics were there, and the room was clean, but the rooms could use some refurbishment and better lighting. Parking costs extra, but the garage is very secure, so it’s a good option if you need somewhere to leave the car. Breakfast was okay, though choices were limited, and did the job. If you’re driving to Bellagio, you can go to Varenna in about 15-20 minutes and take your car on the ferry to Bellagio instead of driving the whole way. We hadn’t realized the ferries took cars.

During our one-night stay from 15-16/6, it was over 32 degrees Celsius and the air conditioning wasn’t working. Staff told us the AC in the whole building was out. The hotel is beside the main road, so leaving the window open to sleep wasn’t really possible because of the nighttime noise. No one contacted us beforehand or mentioned it at check-in. They only told us after we asked. The staff were rude and didn’t seem to care. They offered no fix or help at all. Also, trains have been out of service since June 2025 for maintenance expected to last several months, with buses replacing them. That meant the location wasn’t much of an advantage. Other places near the lake and Lecco are convenient and reasonably priced. Even though this place was cheap, it wasn’t worth it. If you’re thinking of booking, read the comments about hygiene and staff attitude, there are a lot of them, not just mine. Avoid this place.
