Morgan Hotel

Mr. Antonio was warm, funny, and kept everyone's spirits up. He was also happy to suggest places to eat based on what guests wanted. The hotel itself is small and charming, right in central Manduria, in the province of Taranto, with the historic center and plenty of places to eat close by. If you're passing through Manduria, give it a try.

Getting there by car is the one awkward part. Once you're in Manduria, though, the central location makes it easy to wander the town's narrow streets. The rooms are comfortable, guests can use the kitchen, and there's a restaurant within walking distance. What really sets the place apart is how helpful and friendly the manager, Mr. Antonio, is.

The hotel was clean and welcoming. I had contacted several places about staying during the August bank holiday week, and this was the only one in Manduria willing to adapt a single room for two people. The others just sent the usual “sold out” reply. The manager was very helpful.

There was no breakfast, not even in sight, and the so-called valet parking was just finding a space in the alley. We only saw staff when we arrived, and at checkout we didn't even leave our keys on the reception desk. It doesn't deserve even one star. I only gave it one so I could post this.
