Residence Cardinale

The place was clean, which was the one good point for me. I stayed four nights and was counting down until I could leave. The photos gave me a much better impression than the stay itself: there wasn't much hospitality, the coffee was the worst I had on my trip, dogs barked a lot, the street was loud, and we had electricity problems. The owners were the main issue. I expect they'll reply saying something like it's untrue or that this guest is lying. Some guests clearly aren't happy, and I wish they'd accept that and think about it instead of dismissing it.

The name is the only luxurious thing about this place. The price is far too high for what you get, since I found other hotels in the same area at a similar standard or better. I've stayed in several, and I wouldn't recommend this one. Here are seven reasons. First, the road is busy and nearby dogs bark at night. I'm not especially sensitive to noise, but this was too much for me. The room also couldn't be made fully dark, so I woke early from the light, and then there was breakfast noise and noise from other guests at 7:30. Our cereal had a small caterpillar in it, as shown in the picture. The woman told us she had other things to do and no time to deal with it. Great news, I suppose, in an era when insects are being considered as future food. The staff didn't seem sympathetic or friendly, and they didn't follow our requests. The girl serving breakfast forgot half our order. The windows weren't right either, with cold air constantly moving toward the bed, which gave us severe muscle tension. The power went out five times in two days. Once it happened early in the morning, and a very bright light came on and woke us up, as shown in the picture. The small plastic shower gel packs weren't refilled, so from our second day on we had no shower gel.

It wasn't as good as I'd expected. Edit: The owner of the residence tries to label every objective criticism as “fake.” That's very ignorant behavior.

Super.
