Bellerive Ristorante Albergo

We were glad we’d reserved for the four of us last night, since the restaurant was full. The location is nice and the service was friendly, but the food quality has definitely gone downhill over the past few years. Our sides came ten minutes before the main courses, and one main was missing until we pointed it out and the waitress went to get it from the kitchen. The charcoal-grilled entrecôte tasted good but was so tough we couldn’t finish it all. The trout was good. The “fish skewers” were actually 100% calamari, which was okay, but I’d expected fish.

We came back to eat here several times, even though we only used the restaurant. The food was fantastic, and the staff were friendly despite being rushed off their feet. Prices are reasonable for the area. Book ahead, though, as we couldn't get a table on our last evening.

This is just about the restaurant. The pizza was the best we found nearby, and the pasta was generally good too. Lasagne was the letdown: it seemed like a soft, floppy portion that had been made well ahead and reheated. The flavor itself was still acceptable.

I asked if there was a table available without a reservation and got a downright offensive, demeaning answer. The way I was treated was arrogant and completely lacking in basic customer skills, a first for me. Some of the staff here are simply obnoxious. I'd recommend avoiding this place.
