The wellness area is a lovely, peaceful retreat, with skilled, professional massage therapists. The food is another highlight: the husband-and-wife team put real care into dishes made with local ingredients and an authentic Italian feel. Eating at the restaurant felt like being welcomed into a friend's home. The staff were kind, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. Il Borgo dei Poeti is a gem on Lake Garda. I'd recommend it for a romantic break, good food, or some time to relax. I left refreshed and already thinking about coming back.

The rooms were clean and well presented, but they didn't have the quality I'd expect from the promised four stars. The hotel description was a bitter disappointment too, since this definitely isn't a spa. You'll need a car to stay here. We ate at the adjoining restaurant and were served food that seemed like it came from Lidl. The waitress was the nicest person on staff, but the manager was disorganized and turned out to be the chef as well.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and the food and service were good. Our attic room, number 205, was large, with a spacious bathroom and decent furnishings, though the furniture itself comes down to personal taste. I'm not keen on carpet these days. Getting there was awkward: the hotel is tucked into a very old part of town, reached by car along narrow streets. Parking was impossible nearby, so you have to leave the car farther out and hope there's a space. The entrance, terrace, and pool could have been cleaner, and the decor was very dated. The whole place felt old-fashioned.
