B&B Villa Ermanna

I spent nearly two months here before moving into a rented apartment. The Villa is out on the edge of Mantova, which makes it quiet and peaceful. There are rooms for one, two, three, or even four people, and they’re spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is available, and there are two large shared kitchens for anyone who wants to cook. The people at the Villa were fabulous. Mrs. Ermanna was especially caring, took a real liking to me, and treated me like her son. I was completely overwhelmed by how warmly she looked after me.

The owner was there with recommendations and help, and you can order things since the restaurants are a bit spread out. Everything else was perfect, from the friendly welcome and tidy place to the excellent breakfast.

The location takes some effort to reach, though it works if you’re not pressed for time. The bus into town comes about once an hour. Breakfast could have offered more, but it was okay. The room and the whole place were beautiful and comfortable, and the host was super friendly. She didn’t speak English, but we managed. It was a nice change for a night from the small hotels and hostels in city centers.

The rooms were good, reception was nice, and the price was attractive. But mornings were noisy, with doors slamming and waking me up. Without a car, getting to town and back is difficult. What looks like a 20-minute trip can involve waiting over an hour. The last bus from town is at 8 pm, and there are no taxis, only expensive Uber.
