Casal Dell'Angelo

The staff, who are from Naples, explained the city to us, which made for an unforgettable stay. The room was clean and nice, though a bit small. The fridge wasn’t cold, but the AC worked great, and breakfast was good. There’s a swimming pool and lots of free parking. The airport is about a 20-minute drive away, a major grocery store is five minutes away by car, and there’s a gas station across the street.

The hotel made an effort to improve our stay, and the staff kindly let us use the main pool. We’re grateful for that, so I’ve changed my rating from what I wrote in the heat of the moment. At check-in, the place seemed nice, though almost deserted apart from two staff members. The property looked good, and our room was decent but a little small. We’d booked specifically for the pool and gym, so we were unhappy to be told we could only use the tiny second pool beside a busy highway. The main pool was supposedly unavailable because a ‘festa’ was happening that evening. Swimming beside the road wasn’t something we wanted to do. After my wife made an angry call to reception, we were eventually allowed into the main pool, presumably while sharing it with the private party. The whole experience soured our impression and disrupted what we’d expected to be a pleasant, easy stay. Think twice, and consider checking when you book that all the facilities will be available during your visit.

The continental breakfast in the garden was excellent, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is clean, tidy and nicely presented. The shower was so tiny it was hard to move around in, and the bathroom ceiling slopes under the roof, so watch your head.

The food was outstanding, and the staff were great. The rooms were small but very nice. Most of the staff don’t speak English, though a few do, and they were always patient about translating. Thanks to Anando for making my stay so enjoyable. I was there on a business trip, but the hotel made it feel like a vacation.
