Cilento Dreams Village

Fantastic.

The cabins are pleasant and have a handy patio, but mine needed a much better clean. There were cobwebs by the doors, so I removed them myself. The bathroom smelled bad and seemed not to have been cleaned, with more cobwebs, and I found plenty of dust on the floor and windowsills. The bathroom door is broken, and the shower is dated, with an ugly, unhygienic curtain. Still, this is a beautiful place, and I recommend it. The resort is small, welcoming, and well maintained by young, friendly, helpful staff. When I reported that the split air conditioning in the children's room wasn’t working, they fixed it right away. The pool was the highlight and was kept immaculately clean by lifeguard Francesco. Breakfast isn’t especially varied, though there are always croissants on the tables. The food was decent, and the restaurant staff were quick and helpful.

The kids had a great time with the entertainment staff, and we really enjoyed a show of classic Neapolitan songs put on by the entertainment team on our last day. The pool stays open all day and is very well looked after by Francesco, who’s meticulous about maintaining and preparing it. There are two large parking areas where you can leave the car for the whole vacation, plus a beach shuttle driven by friendly Antonio. The bar and restaurant are run by third parties, but both work well, and meals there are reasonably priced. Breakfast was good, though there could be more food out. Refills were limited, so arriving late could mean finding almost nothing, but a croissant was always provided at each table. Alessandra was professional, and Rosa was efficient in sorting out our requests during our four-day stay. We asked for a hairdryer and a mop, and later for mosquito repellent. There are some mosquitoes, so bring your own if you can. The village is a little above Marina di Camerota, about five minutes by car from all the amenities. The accommodation is basic but comfortable, the bed was quite comfortable, and every room has a lovely porch. Recommended for families after a completely relaxing, worry-free stay. I really hope to return.

The food was a letdown: poor quality, no fresh products, little variety, and no buffet. The side dishes were always the same, scarce, and ran out quickly. Breakfast was very poor, with no savory choices and no typical Cilento products at breakfast or dinner. It wouldn’t take much to improve both meals. The kids’ club was left to two girls who mostly ended up playing cards with the children, and the activities shown on the posters never happened. The bar also fell flat, with the bartender often absent when you wanted to order. Tables wobbled; we reported it, but nothing was done, and there was little attention to detail. The residence is a few kilometers from the sea, though the shuttle service was efficient. Antonio was friendly and professional. The pool was small but well kept, especially by lifeguard Francesco, who kept cleaning the loungers. There’s a lot that needs improving. The cabins are small but have what you need, though there’s no kitchenette. They were clean, but the shower curtain really wasn’t acceptable, the double mattress was uncomfortable, and there were too many mosquitoes and insects on the veranda. Had they done pest control? In short, this didn’t work for us, and I don’t think we’ll return.
