LH Domus Caesari

The room was clean and had a nice view toward Rome, with free parking and a friendly man at the counter. Breakfast was fairly basic. The hotel itself felt run-down, though, and the strong perfume smell in the rooms and corridors lingered even after hours of airing things out. I suspect it irritated my respiratory system, with effects on my health the following week. The mattresses had a dip around hip level, so it felt like lying directly on the bed base.

On the last day, I’d arranged a noon checkout because I had a customer call from 11 to 12. I’d asked at hotels.com, and they said it was fine since the hotel wasn’t busy and wasn’t fully booked. But during that hour, staff kept banging on the door and calling the room phone for a whole hour while I was on an important business call. It put me in a really awkward position and felt very unprofessional. The staff generally weren’t friendly, and this was a terrible experience. I travel a lot, both personally and for work, and I’ve never had one this bad.

It’s an old but clean hotel with a magnificent view. There’s a small restaurant nearby. Elizia, we missed you at the restaurant.

Getting to the airport bus stop takes quite a long walk, which is a downside. The sunset I saw there, though, was outstanding, and I really liked the location. The showers are ace, but there’s some rust if you look closely. A bit of the room floor came up when I walked barefoot, so I pushed it back down and put my slippers on. All was golden after that. While I was drunk, I told the wench I’d be happy to renew our vows there.
