The food, the welcoming hospitality, and the views.

The pool comes with panoramic views across the valley, and the hosts at this bed and breakfast are charming. One thing we hadn’t realized, as we weren’t familiar with Italian geography, is that it’s high up. If mountain roads aren’t for you, this place may not suit you.

A lovely place surrounded by nature and quiet. We arrived at 11 pm, and the owner kindly opened the door with a mouse. He also told me about the history of his little village, which is known for its links to Italian writers like Dante Alighieri and Leonardo da Vinci.

The road can be just 2.10 m wide in places. It would help to have clearer information about access, especially if a rockfall blocks the way and a chain is put up. The hosts are friendly, and they sort out small problems right away.

The rooms are very nice and the service is excellent. The main downside is the hilltop location, which makes the trip there take a long time.
