The place is lovely, with a charming, grandmother’s-house feel, and breakfast was great. I got inexpensive, really good takeaway pizza from up the road, then ate it in the garden with a kitten for company. Try the pistachio pizza from Pizza Pazza. One thing to know: when heading east, Waze may take you on a very circuitous route through tiny streets. This review is for Antica Dimora La Porta del Sale, and I’m not sure why the listing uses a different name.

A traditional old family home, beautifully refurbished in keeping with its character, now welcoming a small number of lucky guests. It’s family run with real care and dedication. Highly recommended!

The garden was beautiful, with lots of places to sit and enjoy the calm. We spent four days at this delightful residence near Marsala, and our room was very clean, thoughtfully furnished, and tastefully decorated in classic Sicilian style. Maxime welcomed us, kindly accommodated our requests, and suggested places for dinner. Highly recommended if you want to explore this beautiful part of Sicily, including the stunning Egadi Islands nearby.

The quiet countryside setting around Marsala makes this old residence feel almost outside of time. It’s peaceful, simple, and beautiful, with an authentic elegance that makes you want to stay. Margherita’s kindness and helpfulness made the house feel familiar to us, while her courteous, elegant parents added to the calm with their discreet presence. I’ll be happy to come back :)

We had a lovely two-day stay. The house is delightful, and Maxime was welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was made up of authentic homemade items, and the ricotta cassatelle and plum cake were delicious. The place is very close to the salt flats and pier, yet the surroundings are quiet and peaceful.
