Hotel President

On a hectic bus tour through Sicily, I only spent one night here, but it was the best hotel of the trip so far. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious, and the extras were above average. They even served real orange juice at breakfast.

I stayed two nights for a business trip and barely saw anyone else around. The hotel is enormous, and I loved how quiet the pool was in the backyard. My room was clean and peaceful too. Breakfast was the standard Italian kind, nothing special but nothing to complain about. The service staff did their best, and checking out in the middle of the night for my flight was no problem.

The hotel’s huge, and there’s a swimming pool. My room was big, but the bathroom felt a bit dated and the Wi-Fi was pretty slow, at least in my room. Breakfast was unremarkable, and I really missed having eggs. It’s okay as a place to stay, but not somewhere I’d enjoy spending time. The city center is a 20-minute walk away.

The beds were comfortable and the pillows really nice, and the rooms are spacious, but the hotel feels very dated. The shower was awful, with no hot water. Breakfast was okay, nothing special, and the coffee wasn’t good. Staff could have been more welcoming. After check-in they just handed us the key without explaining anything about the area. Housekeeping came into our room while we were there, and when I said I didn’t speak Italian, she walked away without a word. It’s quite a way from Marsala’s historic center, about a 25-minute walk to the beach area. For dinner in the center, you’ll need to drive or walk for a while.
