Il Profumo del Sale

Celsa made our stay memorable, from the generous breakfast to an extraordinary dinner. She’s a chef who works creatively with herbs and spices, so the food was full of flavor without salt. Her enthusiasm for Marsala and for making sure guests enjoy their visit really comes through. We also got detailed advice and a handwritten map for the salt pans road toward Trapani. Celsa went out of her way to help us after checkout, when we found a problem with our rental car. She met us and spoke with the hire company in her native Italian, and we were back on the road quickly. She had no obligation to come after us, and we’re so grateful she did. We loved Il profumo del sale, one of our top stays on our 360º roadtrip of Sicily. It’s a beautiful, rustic, cozy, very Sicilian building, decorated with meticulous taste, right in the middle of Marsala and close to public parking. We arrived late and missed the chance to explore much, but Celsa reserved a table for us at Ciacco, one of her favorite restaurants, and it was an absolute delight. She also shared lots of local recommendations, including where to find the best nightlife. Breakfast the next day was delicious, one of the best of our holiday. I can’t recommend the B&B and its owner highly enough if you’re passing through Marsala.

The rooms were cozy and super clean, and the B&B is right in the heart of the historic center. Celsa was a friendly, welcoming host who put real care into preparing lots of traditional local dishes, with the best Marsala wines, of course. Great hospitality, and I highly recommend staying here.

Celsa made us a delicious breakfast and pointed us toward some fantastic restaurants and bars nearby. The B&B is right in the heart of town, and staying there was a real pleasure. A must if you’re after a traditional B&B.
