If you’re after authentic Sicily, a quiet, remote lifestyle and amazing sunsets, this area and place fit the bill. It’s also nicely placed for kite surfing.

We stayed for a couple of days in October 2024, in the apartment at the back. The owner was friendly, and there was a new baby bed with one side that could open. The apartment was clean apart from the shower corners. It had good hot water, WiFi and air conditioning, a private parking space, a free washing machine, and a drying area behind one bedroom. The machine smelled a bit and was rusty. The kite lagoon was a short drive away. It was very quiet when there were no neighbors. The place was dark, with north-facing windows and a tree in front. Mosquitoes were around day and night, making outdoor meals nearly impossible. Only one bedroom had a net, and we couldn’t leave doors or windows open. There wasn’t a comfortable place to relax in the kitchen/living room either. The sofa was tiny, old and sagging, and there was a garbage bin beside it. Maybe it works for young kiters who spend all day at the station, but not for families or anyone hoping to relax outside with a glass of wine.
