Villa Favorita

This seemed more like a party or wedding venue than a hotel. We ended up in a “deluxe bungalow” that was really a strange igloo, with a tiny shower and a broken toilet. The music was unbelievably loud until nearly 1am. I measured 90db outside and almost 70db inside the igloo. Even as a heavy sleeper, I couldn’t sleep through it. I called reception and asked them to turn it down so we could rest, but they said no, it would keep playing until 1.00 no matter what. I repeatedly asked to speak to the manager the next day. When I finally did, he was extremely rude, condescending, and unapologetic. He said they were required BY LAW to play music until 1am if guests wanted it, and that it was my problem if I couldn’t sleep. A woman said he’d tried warning guests about the loud music before, but Google and Booking.com “won’t let him”. Please be warned.

We stayed in a bungalow for three nights. It was comfortable, though I wouldn’t call it “deluxe”. I’d still recommend it, especially for being close to the pool, and it was lovely to walk around the property at night. The gardens are beautiful. Dinner was very good, and the staff were friendly with amazing service. Breakfast was also very good, with tasty sandwiches and fruit, but the options were rather limited. The hard-boiled eggs were cold, like they’d come straight from the fridge. Breakfast is served in a lovely room, and you can also eat outside. The place is pet friendly, and free secure private parking is included.

The bungalow rooms are nice, though the showers are very small, and the gardens are lovely. Breakfast was a nice buffet. Dinner let the experience down: it wasn’t very good and was served in an outdoor tented area. Their green salad was just a bowl of chopped iceberg lettuce 😆. It had the feel of the end of the season.

After a boating day from the docks of Marsala, my husband booked us a room here. The villa is charming, easily one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. He also treated me to a massage on the morning we left, and my masseuse was wonderful. It was the best massage of my life. I can’t recommend this place enough.
