Al Dolce Farniente

Paola, the staff member, was the only bright spot. The owner waited for us in the evening to get paid and greeted us in a crazy manner, to say the least. The stay had already been disappointing: there were nine of us, but the shared kitchen had just one bottle of water. Our triple room had been made by squeezing a box spring and mattress into the smallest room. With permission, we moved them to a bigger room, where an unmade sofa bed was also sitting. Breakfast was meager for a farmhouse, with 11 people at the property: four croissants, three single portions of Nutella, half a donut, an apple pie, a tart, and a few cured meats and cheeses. The property has a lot of potential, but it hasn't been used well. From the moment we arrived, the owner was listing problems. She should let it be managed...

The setting at Agriturismo Dolce Far Niente is lovely, but the host completely spoiled my experience. I found him rude and disrespectful, and his way of dealing with guests struck me as aggressive and unprofessional. Things got worse when he accused us, without reason, of refusing to pay the balance. That was absurd and unacceptable in hospitality. A property this beautiful deserves more respectful management.

We went with friends last weekend and found spacious, very clean rooms, each with a private bathroom. The atmosphere is modern and has its own character, and there are two very modern kitchens with everything you need. I'd recommend the place for a couples' break or a group celebration.

Breakfast was generous and varied, with pastries and croissants, local cured meats and cheeses, plus a couple of toasts with smoked salmon and avocado. My wife, our two children, and I were completely satisfied with our stay. The owner and property manager were always kind and helpful, and made sure we were looked after. The rooms were clean and cozy, and guests can use a shared living area with a kitchenette and refrigerator. The countryside setting has lovely views over the Umbrian hills, especially from the pool, and Perugia's center is only a 15-minute drive away.
