We had a wonderful two-night stay at a real agriturismo just outside Marta. It’s quiet and practically on the lakeshore, with the marina only a 300-meter walk away. The location works well for cycling around Lake Bolsena or hiking in the Lamone Nature Reserve. The apartments sit in a lovely garden alongside a large zero-kilometer vegetable garden, where you can buy vegetables, pasta, jams, wine, and more. The owners are extremely kind and welcoming, and make all the spaces available for guests, including a yurt tent. We tried the set-menu dinner one evening, with local organic wine, and everything was delicious.

The peace here is rejuvenating, and the location is really convenient. L'Orto delle Fate was a lovely discovery. Giulia was a wonderful host, Umberto cooked brilliantly, and Giulia's mother has stayed in our hearts. She seems light years ahead of her time in everything, and you can feel her presence in every corner. We highly recommend the experience and will definitely come back. Thanks again for everything. The beach is only a short walk away, and you can head into town on foot, though it’s best to bring a flashlight at night. At Orto Delle Fate, we found the kind of calm, freedom, and relaxation we wanted. The owners are welcoming and kind without being intrusive, and respect everyone’s own pace. We tried the restaurant’s menu and highly recommend it. The rooms have what you need for a quick lunch or breakfast, which you can have on the veranda among the butterflies and birds. Truly a magical place!
