Masseria Signora

The owners were so welcoming, and Signora Agata kept bringing out excellent food, much of it homemade. The old farmhouse has been beautifully restored and feels inviting, with its lovely trulli. It sits among the thick oak and ash woods near the caves and wild landscape of Gravina di Vuolo. The setting even brought to mind the days of Sergeant Romano. Briciola was a delight, escorting us all along the path to the cave as if making sure we didn’t get lost! :-)

Agatha and Giovanni were so welcoming and treated us to fantastic breakfasts and homemade cakes, cheese, and salami. Their little dog’s excited greetings always made us smile. The accommodation is beautiful and tucked into the peaceful countryside, which we love, while still being centrally placed for visits to Puglia’s lovely villages and towns. Highly recommended!

Agata and Giovanni made us feel so welcome, and the freshly prepared breakfast and local cheeses were a real highlight. The accommodation was excellent, and the countryside, horses, and surrounding nature were magical. As an animal lover, I’d just like to see the cats cared for a bit more, with food and water each day and perhaps neutering. We’d absolutely recommend this for a truly authentic stay in Puglia.

The meal was spectacular, and we were pampered like we were at home. They started with mozzarella, artichoke frittata, capocollo from Martina Franca, and excellent tomato focaccia, then brought fava beans and local chicory. We had a great local red wine with it all. The farmhouse sits in the green of Pianelle Park, a lovely area for walking, and its dining room has vaulted ceilings and antique furniture that recalls old crafts. The cleanliness was impeccable. We’d recommend it and will return.
