Atlantis Palace Hotel

The staff were friendly and really helped make our stay worthwhile. We spent a few nights here as a couple. Our room was spacious with a nice balcony, though the bathroom felt a little small. The pool was pleasant, and the cocktails were great. Breakfast was okay, but I'd ask for a coffee instead of using the machine. The beach is nearby, and paying extra for the beach beds felt worth it. In the first week of September, not many beach restaurants nearby were open at night. We wouldn't recommend going near Riposto, and the roads around the area can be rough.

The beach is almost directly across from the hotel, just over the road. In photos, the Atlantis hotel looks beautiful, and the rooms are laid out well, but that disguises the poor condition of the property.

We left the next morning because the room and the rest of the place were in such poor shape that another night wasn't possible. The walls were cracked and dirty, the bed was old and uncomfortable, the sheets and towels were worn, and the lift looked ancient and felt unsafe. We had asked in advance to arrive late and pay cash, but the receptionist tried to charge our card before we even got there. After arriving, we paid €670 in cash and weren't given a receipt or invoice, which seemed very suspicious. We asked for a refund for the three unused nights, but reception refused, as did the hotel in replies to several emails through its official website. The hotel is extremely old and dirty, and the service felt completely unprofessional. It was a nightmare stay. We believe this is a scam and a disgrace to hospitality, not even worth one star. We'll report it to the relevant consumer protection authorities.

The rooms were decent for the price, and the location was nice. The night receptionist's response left me very disappointed. Around 40 teenagers were staying on our floor, shouting, running in the corridors and knocking on doors. At 11:05 pm I called reception because it was too loud to sleep. I was told, “It's a Saturday night.” I tried to sleep again, without luck. At 12:15 am I went down to reception, where a baptism party and disco were going on, so they couldn't hear the noise. They said there were no teenagers on our floor, even though we'd seen them going in and out of rooms. Someone was sent to check, but nothing changed. It was obvious to me that the night receptionist had lied.
