Casale La Torre in Massa Lubrense

The indoor areas had a bit of a musty smell, as is common in similar European villas. Other than that, our stay at Casale La Torre was wonderful. The grounds are magnificent and the views are unmatched; the photos don't really capture it. Sergio and GianLuca were kind and helpful, and arranged some lovely outings. We'd especially recommend the farm tour and a boat trip along the Amalfi coast. Everything went as promised without a hitch, even with our group of 11.

The views are amazing, and the garden is charming and bucolic, but the property felt like it was declining and wasn't maintained to match its expensive nightly rate. The furniture, pool, and bathrooms are old, and some equipment worked poorly. Across our week, cleaning and fresh sheets weren't included in the price. Cleaning was understandable, but charging extra for a sheet change was something I'd never encountered. There were only three tiny bathrooms for 13 people, too. I'd say this suits three small groups looking for privacy better than one family. We won't be returning; we know of better options in the area for the same price. Our experience also felt overpriced for the overall quality, and at times like a tourist trap, despite the positive comments we'd read. We have some solid experience with high-standard stays in Italy, and anyone expecting a certain level may be disappointed by the property managers' poor service, even though they seemed delightful before we entered the house. We had a bad experience with a manager named Marta. During the week, she treated us badly, and we had to fight to use one proper kitchen for family dinners for 13. We'd hired a cook to make the most of our few days off, but the manager insisted the cook use three small, badly functioning kitchens instead of the more suitable one that had been mentioned among the facilities during the property visit. We had explicitly asked in our booking request to bring our puppy, but the manager acted as if it hadn't been mentioned. We always check that pets are allowed beforehand, and it seemed to us that new rules were being made along the way. We also waited three days before the bathtub was finally usable. After the property manager's comments, instead of trying to improve things, they apparently found it easier to call customers who paid 12k for a week liars. Thanks for that. Years of property management don't seem to have taught them anything useful. Best of luck for the future.

It’s hard to put into words how beautiful this villa is; the photos really don’t show it properly. It added so much to our time in Sorrento, and we're already talking about going back. When we do, we'll stay at Casale la Torre again. Our group of 10 had privacy, great views, comfortable rooms, and all the amenities we needed. Carmela, the manager, was very helpful and made our stay better with her dining suggestions.

We had a lovely villa with a big outdoor dining and BBQ area, plus a professional kitchen right beside the grill. The swimming pool was beautiful, with fantastic views in every direction. The villa sleeps 10 and has wonderful views over the bay of naples and capri.
