Maison Fernanda

Fernanda and her parents were kind and helpful throughout our stay. We felt as if we were guests in a warm Italian family home, simple and cozy. We had a private dinner for our whole group, and it was easily the best meal of our trip. I can’t recommend this hotel on the Amalfi Coast enough.

We planned to stay for one night and wound up staying four more. The owner’s mother was very helpful and made us feel at home. It’s a lovely family-run place, and our room was clean and well cared for. There are nice restaurants in town, and Sorrento is a short drive away. Parking is in a small lot nearby. The hotel provides a parking permit, so remember to return it when you leave. Recommended!

Dinner was sublime, exactly what we needed after a really tough walking day from Positano. All the food tasted lovingly prepared and very authentic. We slept extremely well in the quiet hotel, and the shower was good, the bedding lovely, and the room perfectly adequate. Anne greeted us warmly when we arrived. We were on a walking trip along the Amalfi coast, and the hotel is definitely a cooking school with rooms. There’s a fridge in the room, but it wasn’t plugged in, so our drinks were warm, and the beer inside was out of date. Breakfast was disappointing by comparison. The croissants were adequate and the coffee good, but the ham and cheese toast we ordered at extra cost was shocking. Check-out was challenging too. There was no change, and even though we only needed €5, we insisted on getting it because the breakfast extra had been so poor. If you’re in Sant ‘Agata for one evening, it’s a good bolt hole, though some things need improvement.

We stayed in September 24. The room was dark and really noisy, and needs refurbishing. Service was average and slow. Breakfast was pretty bad, with extra items charged on top. The Instagram pictures make it look different from what it’s actually like.
