O' Funaro

We went to Pietro's restaurant in the summer and had a lovely time. The hosts were very kind, and the food was amazing. Best pizza I've ever had.

There's no parking, and the property is out of the way and far from the sea. I'm usually able to adapt to almost anything, but this place was too much. It's run down and seems to get very little maintenance. An older person kindly showed my wife, son and me to the room we had booked through Booking.com. The room matched the photo, but it was in unsanitary condition. In the tiny bathroom, there was no drain, so water dripped onto the toilet, bidet and sink. The manager offered another room with a tub, but after seeing the state of things we didn't think it was worth it. The single bed was made from a rusty bunk bed, and adhesive film covered the windows. Dust was everywhere. I'll never book through Booking.com again. I think they should inspect the properties they list instead of relying on managers' photos.

Mr. Pietro is a delightful person who welcomes you, offers advice and enjoys a chat. The products are genuine, delicious and unquestionably good. Just don't expect a carefully maintained, modern, fairy-tale setting. Some corners feel like the 1950s, 60s or 70s, the sort of thing you might have seen in your grandparents' home. Every experience leaves us with memories and something to learn.
