Sunset Rooms

We came for one night and booked a quadruple room, but were given a triple instead. Our check-in was set for 10:00 AM, yet when we arrived then, the cleaning lady said it was the wrong time and treated us terribly. The terrace was also very dirty and poorly kept, which was a shame with such a beautiful view. The property wasn’t very clean, and the welcome was awful. Rooms may not always be ready on time, but people should still be treated kindly. Three stars for the location.

There’s no reception, and many amenities are outside the building. We booked a room with three beds, but the third one had no sheets. The bathroom was clean, though the shower leaked everywhere. The small refrigerator was noisy, and minor maintenance seemed to be lacking throughout.

The roof terrace is a dream, open to all guests, with a fantastic view of Capri and the sunset. Massa Lubrense felt authentic and wasn’t overcrowded, and we’d love to return. The apartment is beautiful and right in the heart of town. It’s clean and tidy, though a bit small. The landlady was friendly, and breakfast was served at the cafe on the ground floor.

The location is excellent, with bars, banks, tobacconists, supermarkets and restaurants close by, and the city is pretty. You might find free parking if you’re lucky, otherwise there are plenty of paid places. As for the room, there are four unmarked flights of stairs and no elevator, good for keeping in shape, but inconvenient. They mention soundproofing, but it wasn’t there. The building needs some repairs, especially the front door, which has an automatic alarm if you’re sleeping in Sorrento.
