Villa Aragona

That top-floor terrace looking over the Bay of Naples is hard to beat. This 17th-century home has seven bedrooms and lots of little parlors, which made it a lovely wedding setting. The bathrooms are modern and well equipped, and nearly everything is well maintained, though the kitchen's gas range was one exception. The showers can be slippery, and a grab bar would help older guests like me.

Getting around was the one difficult part for us. The area isn't very walkable, and the winding roads felt scary to our American friends, even between houses only seven minutes apart. I'd suggest renting a scooter. The villa itself was incredible, with two kitchens, a balcony, patio, pool, jacuzzi, pizza oven, and gorgeous traditional interiors with modern comforts. Our group of 14 had a great time. We booked directly through Feeling Italy, and Gianluca was so kind and quick to help, including sending a plumber when the annex boiler stopped working. He also arranged a fantastic boat tour and pizza party. We had an amazing holiday and would book again in a heartbeat.

We made good use of all the cooking areas and had a BBQ in the big outdoor seating space. The pool kept us busy during the day, then we enjoyed the whirlpool at night. We were there for a wedding and had a few amazing days at Villa Aragona.

The weather was a bit disappointing during our visit, but the views, local wine, warm hospitality, and hot tub made the cooler days much better. We were a group of 15, and everyone left happy. Our host was attentive even with little requests, and arranged taxis, groceries, and restaurant reservations. There's a local shop within walking distance for lovely fresh bread in the morning, and the locals are very helpful. The pizza party is well worth it, the pizzas use local ingredients and keep coming. We had a fabulous stay booked through Feeling Italy and would definitely return.
