Villarena Relais

We especially enjoyed the local food and wine tasting. It brought together the area's produce and history, and Guglielmo's enthusiasm for quality food and Nerano really came through. He also shared thoughtful local recommendations and history, and pointed us toward some amazing hiking routes. My boyfriend and I had a great experience with him at Villarena, and hope to return sometime soon.

We stayed a few days and would happily return as soon as we can. The setting made a peaceful base near Nerano's main square, with a pool, garden, orchard, wine tasting room, and free parking. Trails to Baia di Ieranto and the regional park are right nearby, and the beach is about a ten-minute walk downhill. We recommend renting a zodiac to see the coves and blue water. Our traditionally furnished room had a kitchen, air conditioning, a washer, and a lovely view of Nerano bay. Guglielmo gave us personal service and shared his food and wine knowledge while still giving us privacy. He can tailor meals to your stay, though the place also works as a base for the two Michelin-starred restaurants in this modest, charming village. It's a quiet, elegant B&B with an on-demand restaurant, close to the bustle of Sorrento and Positano without their high prices. Guglielmo made the stay feel like an authentic Neapolitan holiday.

Guglielmo even managed to find us a place on the boat to Capri the night before it sailed. The online booking page showed it was full, but he made a few calls and sorted it out for us. We booked two nights at Villarena Relais at the last minute and enjoyed the whole stay. The rooms were spacious and clean, the welcome and service from Guglielmo and his staff were great, and the location was hard to beat. The garden produce and wine were fantastic too. I'd recommend Villarena Relais and Nerano for an easy, beautiful Amalfi Coast holiday.

What I remember most is the feeling of being welcomed by the villa's owner, whose warmth and generosity made us feel more like friends than guests. They were attentive to making the stay comfortable and full. The apartment had a lovely mix of local character and simple elegance. Terracotta underfoot, shutters opening onto the views, and a slower pace all made it easy to settle in. You wake to distant waves and can dine beneath wisteria-covered trellises. The whole place feels like a brief escape into a more soulful, distinctly Italian way of life. Nerano is tucked among lemon groves on the southern Amalfi Coast, where the cliffs meet the Tyrrhenian Sea. The villa feels timeless and authentic, a beautiful place to stay.
